Does the employer have to make an appointment before sending a newly injured worker to your clinics?

No, we will see a newly injured worker on a walk-in basis as long as a contract is in place and we have a DWC1 form filled out. It will speed up the time required for the visit if you call ahead with the employee and workers compensation information.

Do I have to make an appointment for a DOT Physical?

No, our office will see you for a DOT physical on a walk in basis. Once again the time required for the examination can be shortened by calling ahead.

Do you do drug testing outside of workers compensation and pre-employment physicals?

Yes, we offer DOT testing in addition to several drug testing programs from medication management to individual testing.

List of things COMP staff CANNOT help patients with

  1. We apologize, but we do not have control over when your claims carrier (worker’s compensation insurance company) or claims adjuster (claims carrier’s designated representative) will contact you about your payments or approve submitted RFAs (request for authorizations). Please contact your adjuster or attorney for any authorization updates on your claim.

  2. We apologize, but we cannot help with appointments earlier than your scheduled date unless authorized. Please obtain a written authorization from your claims adjuster to be seen sooner.

  3. We cannot add on injuries to your industrial claim (worker’s compensation claim). Your claims carrier authorizes us to treat specific body parts/injuries/illnesses. If you would like to add on other claimed injuries, please contact your claims adjuster, attorney or your Nurse Case Manager (if you are assigned one).

  4. We apologize, but you cannot choose occupational providers within COMP clinics. We are ONE company and only function as ONE unit.

  5. RFAs (request for authorizations)- Copies of RFAs will not be given here. Please obtain copies from your adjuster or attorney.

  6. For answers to medical treatment questions- please make an authorized appointment with your provider. Discussions about medical treatment are outside the scope of practice of office staff.

  7. Without patient consent, we will not disclose any private patient health or treatment information to a family member unless a healthcare power of attorney is on file.

  8. Without patient consent, we will not disclose any patient health/treatment information to a supervisor/boss or HR personnel. Because of HIPAA Law, we will not disclose information to anyone not directly involved in patient care. Only FAEs (functional ability evaluations) or work statuses will be shared with your employer/supervisor/HR representative/boss etc.
